MealPlan can sync your data between your iOS devices, using iCloud or Dropbox.
Sync is not enabled by default; you need to turn it on when you want to start sharing your data between devices.
Sync Services: iCloud or Dropbox
The first choice you have to make is whether to use iCloud or Dropbox. iCloud is the simplest to set up, but requires that all the devices you want to sync are signed in to the same iCloud account. If you want to sync with a device that's logged in to a different iCloud account, then you will have to use Dropbox.
Setting Up Sync with iCloud
In Settings:
- Tap Sync.
- Tap "iCloud with CloudKit".
- Tap "Start Syncing".
MealPlan will start syncing. The first sync can take a while; wait for the first sync to complete before turning on sync on your other device(s). You will know sync has completed when the status message changes to "Last sync: " and shows the current date and time.
Setting Up Sync with Dropbox
First, ensure you have the Dropbox app installed on your iPhone or iPad, and that you've signed in to your Dropbox account.
In Settings:
- Tap Sync.
- Tap "Dropbox"
- Tap "Start Syncing".
- You will be transitioned to the Dropbox app, where you will have to tap Allow to allow MealPlan access to your Dropbox.
MealPlan will start syncing. The first sync can take a while; wait for the first sync to complete. You'll find a folder in your Dropbox called "MealPlanSyncData". Use the Dropbox app to share this folder with any other user you'd like to sync your MealPlan data with.
Once you've done this, you can perform the same steps on the other device to sync with it.
