To scroll back to Today on the iPhone version of MealPlan, tap the status bar (the bar at the top of the device's screen, that shows time time and battery information). This works for scrolling to the top of a list in any app, but MealPlan uses this to scroll back to Today.
MealPlan has a Today widget you can add to your iPhone or iPad's Notification Center, that adds a card showing your planned meals for today to the Today view.

You can also press hard on the MealPlan icon to see this card, if you have an iPhone that supports 3D Touch.
On the iPhone, when planning meals, after you tap on a day to show the meals for that day, you can scroll the view at the top to change what meal you're planning. This is a shortcut for pressing the Next and Previous buttons.
On the iPad, you can tap and hold on a meal to show a menu, which lets you Copy, Paste, and Clear the meals for that day.
