This is the core feature of MealPlan, planning your meals. Having a meal plan makes it much more likely that you will eat healthy foods, and make good use of the food you buy. MealPlan's goal is to help you get this job done as quickly as possible so it's a task you look forward to every week.
The iPhone and iPad versions of MealPlan work differently when it comes to planning meals, but the concepts are the same.
Meals are planned by adding recipes to meal slots. "Breakfast" and "Lunch" are meal slots, and you can configure your own in Settings (if you'd like to add slots for snacks, for example).
On the iPhone, you do this by tapping on a day to bring up the list of recent meals, and then either picking from the recent meals, or typing in the Search box to locate a recipe. If what you type isn't already a recipe, then you can tap Add to add it.
On the iPad, the process is similar. You tap on a day to bring out the list of recent meals, but recent meals for all your meal slots are shown, and you use drag & drop to plan them. Tap and hold on a meal to pick it up, then move it to the slot you'd like to plan it for, and drop it.
There's a short video for both the iPhone and iPad that shows how this works - it's much easier to understand by watching the video.
